WSLD Electromagnetic Flowmeter

Introduction

WSLD series electromagnetic flowmeters, composed of sensor and converter, work based on Faraday’s law of electromagnetic induction. It is used to measure electrical conductivity of liquid or solid. Generally, the electrical conductivity should be over 5uS/cm (electrical conductivity of tap water, raw water is about 100-500uS/cm. It can also be used to measure various mediums like acid, alkali, saline solution, paper pulp, ore pulp and so on, but these mediums cannot contain a lot of magnetic materials and bubbles.

 

Working principle

The principle of the sensor is based on Faraday’s law of electromagnetic induction. It is installed a pair of detection electrodes on the pipe wall, where the measurement pipe axis and magnetic field lines are vertical. When the conductive liquid moves along the measurement pipe axis, the conductive liquid cuts magnetic field lines and produces induced electromotive force, which can be measured by the two electrodes on the meter pipe. The result can be calculated by the formula:

When measuring flow, fluid flows through magnetic field which is perpendicular to the direction of the flow. Then the flow of conductive fluid induces electromotive force proportional to the average velocity. Therefore, the detected fluid requires to be higher than the minimum of electrical conductivity. Its induced voltage signal is detected through two electrodes and sent to a converter through the cable. After signal processing and related operations, WSLD electromagnetic flowmeter will display total flow and instantaneous flow in converter display.  

 

Features

a) Measurement is not affected by changes in fluid density, viscosity, temperature, pressure and tunneling conductivity;

b )There is no flow obstruction in the measuring pipe, no serious damage and low requirement for straight pipe section. ,

c)Series nominal repressor DN6-DN3000. Sensor lining and electrode materials have many choices;

d)The converter adopts a novel excitation mode with low power consumption, stable zero point and high accuracy. Its flow rate can reach 1500: 1:

e)Converters can be integrated or separated from sensors.

f)The converter uses 16-bit high-performance loan processor and 2X16LCD display. It has convenient parameter setting and reliable programming;

g)The flowmeter is a two-way measurement system with three totalizers: positive total, reverse total and total differential: it can display positive and negative flow, and has multiple outputs: current, pulse, digital communication, HART:

h)The converter uses surface mounting technology (SMT), with new functions of self-examination and self-diagnosis:

t)Rubber and polyurethane lining sensors are intrinsic immersion structures:

j) Explosion-proof instruments can be used in corresponding explosion-proof places;

k  )WSLD electromagnetic flowmeter is used to measure volume flow of conductive liquid and slurry in closed pipeline. It is suitable for chemical industry, electric power, metallurgy, petroleum, water supply and drainage, paper making, medicine, food and other departments.
